Robert Pattinson Set To Water His Elephant In Australia In May

The World’s biggest heart throb today, Robert Pattinson who vies for the title with Justin Beiber is heading down to Australia to promote ‘Water For Elephants.’

Robert Pattinson plays an animal handler who falls for Reece Witherspoon’s glittering circus performer in the romantic, depression-era drama, based on Sara Gruen’s novel.  This infatuation doesn’t do much to endear him to his boss and her husband (Christoph Waltz) – the cruel but charismatic circus master.

Oscar-winner Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) will also attend Sydney’s premier venue, the State Theatre, for a premiere on May 6 with director Francis Lawrence.  Lawrence has raved about the on-screen chemistry between Witherspoon and Pattinson, but the film’s animal coordinator Paul “Sled” Reynolds recently revealed  that Rob was actually smitten with a very different co-star!

He said Pattinson was on the fence about taking the role of Jacob until the actor met Tai, a 42-year-old, four tonne elephant.  “Rob was non-committal until he saw the elephant,” Reynolds said.

So Kristin Stewart is still safe – unless Rob tales think way too far with Tai.  While this will be R-Patz’s first trip to Australia, his Twilight co-stars Kristin Stewart and Taylor Lautner toured Sydney last year.
