Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Ron Carlivati has big plans as the show’s new head writer. His material will begin airing July 19, so Days fans are obviously excited about what’s ahead. Interesting tidbits have been floating around over the past few months. It’s been fun to think about what Carlivati has in store for Salem and all our favorite DOOL characters.
You’ve probably heard that Eileen Davidson (Kristen), Alison Sweeney (Sami) and Chandler Massey (Will) are all headed back to Days of Our Lives. It’s obvious that the NBC soap is hoping to make a huge splash. However, returns can only get you so far. All of the aforementioned comebacks will be short-term, so Days needs something to keep the buzz going.
If you’re also a fan of General Hospital, you may know that William deVry is reportedly out as Julian as his contract negotiations have reportedly failed. Both Soap Opera Digest and Soapcentral have inside sources to back that up. Could deVry end up at another soap soon? He would certainly be a welcome addition to Days of Our Lives!
Ron Carlivati is GH’s former head writer, so he might be keeping an eye on this situation. DeVry would be an awesome leading man at Days. They could really use another hunk his age bracket.
It’s worth mentioning that DOOL has a serious Hope (Kristian Alfonso) problem. No matter how much they try to push Rafe (Galen Gering) and Hope as a couple, the romance falls flat. They’re pleasant enough together, but it’s tough to compete with the magic of “Bope.” Bo (Peter Reckell) was the perfect match for “Fancy Face.”
Rafe constantly feels the need to save Hope. He protects her at every turn. That’s just not the Hope we all know and love. She’s no damsel in distress! Bo definitely came to Hope’s rescue over the years, but he also let her be an independent woman. They were a powerful team.
Hope should probably be paired with someone who’s rugged and a little rough around the edges. William deVry might have excellent chemistry with Kristian Alfonso. They would undoubtedly look good next to each other.
Days could use this opportunity to give Hope a new man who lets her show off her fierce side. He could support her without controlling her. Balance is the key when it comes to loving partners.
