The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) may find herself in need of a DNA test soon enough. B&B fans know Steffy slept with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), but she also admitted John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) had been spending the night at her place multiple times a week.
The door is wide open for Steffy to not be certain who the father is if she winds up pregnant. This is where things could get interesting.
The Bold and the Beautiful is bringing back Tina Huang as Dr. Campbell, who ran the DNA test after Steffy slept with both Liam and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) in 2017. The question is: Why bring back Steffy’s old doctor?
Plenty of doctors have come and gone since then, so B&B could’ve easily just brought in another one. It’s intriguing that B&B specifically wanted Huang back as Dr. Campbell. That suggests the show intends to make a connection between Steffy’s 2017 paternity mystery and this potential looming one.
Of course, that connection could be as simple as Dr. Campbell raising an eyebrow over the same old situation for Steffy. It’s not Dr. Campbell’s place to judge, but she’d surely be taken aback by Steffy needing yet another DNA test.
However, what if there’s more to it than that? What if Steffy’s new DNA test results actually lead to a realization that the previous results were wrong? After all, Liam’s DNA might still be on file from the last test.
Perhaps Dr. Campbell would only ask for a sample from Finn to get the new paternity confirmation.
Imagine Dr. Campbell’s surprise if neither Liam’s DNA on file, nor Finn’s new sample matches. Since those are the only two men Steffy’s slept with lately, that wouldn’t make any sense to her.
The explanation might be that there was a switcheroo during the 2017 paternity drama – and that Liam’s DNA on file actually belongs to Bill!
Maybe when Liam was confirmed to be the father, that was actually the result of a switched sample – meaning Bill is Kelly Spencer’s (Avalon and Collette Gray) bio dad. If that sample was a match then and isn’t a match now, that would also make Liam father of Steffy’s new impending bundle of joy.
In other words, let’s leave Liam’s DNA out of the equation and assume the sample labeled “Liam Spencer” actually belonged to Bill. Steffy’s next DNA test with no matches would mean no match for Bill and no match for Finn – indicating that Liam is the father of Steffy’s next child.
These are exciting twists to ponder since we know Bill’s going to face a massive challenge in early 2021. Something unexpected will hit for Bill and Katie Logan (Heather Tom), which will either make or break their relationship.
It’d be massive and unexpected if Bill turned out to be Kelly’s father after all, so there’s the potential for a great curveball here.
