General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) will meet Heather Webber (Alley Mills), so Mommy dearest will spill the adoption story to her devious daughter and try to help her understand.
Esme is locked up tight at Wyndemere at the moment, but she can’t stay up there forever.
There’ll come a time when Esme is no longer Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) captive – and once that happens, Esme will ultimately come face to face with her mother.
GH fans know Esme’s deepest desire has always been for a family, so she was glad to find Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and get the opportunity to grow closer to him.
Ryan and Esme are certainly kindred spirits when it comes to diabolical scheming.
However, Esme has double the crazy genes since Heather is her birth mother.
Based on Ryan’s dialogue in the December 9 episode, it’s obvious Heather was pregnant with Esme when she left him.
Esme could have some mixed emotions when she finally meets Heather for the first time.
Although Esme has been dying to find her bio mom, she’s also got some abandonment issues that’ll need to be addressed.
Esme was taken in by a wealthy family, but her adoptive parents weren’t very involved in her life and eventually died.
Since Esme wasn’t close to her adoptive siblings either, she would’ve felt totally alone without her nanny, Maggie Fitzgerald.
Ryan was kept in the dark on Esme early on and didn’t find out about her existence until much later.
It’ll be different with Heather since she obviously knew about Esme from the get-go and gave her up for adoption.
Of course, that may not have been Heather’s choice depending on what her legal situation looked like at the time.
This whole story is a rewrite, so it’s tough to say exactly how the writers will explain everything.
Heather may have even had good intentions when she surrendered Esme to a family better equipped to take care of her – or so she thought.
Now Heather may have regrets and wonder if she should’ve been a family with Esme and Ryan all along.
Esme might have some initial animosity over Heather bailing on her, but we’d say any anger will fade quickly.
It’s clear that Esme’s need for parental love and acceptance is too strong to let anything else get in the way.
