In tonight’s Fire Country episode, Bode agreed to become a mentor to a young man named Tyler. What he didn’t expect was that it would lead him to doing demonstrations at the local high school.
Tyler was a good kid. He was still a teenager and a little moody, but other than that he was a good kid. He’s been coming to the firehouse every day to hang out at the firehouse.
He likes being handy. He also likes hanging around Bode because Bode doesn’t treat him like he’s kid. Tyler couldn’t say the same of his mom or his stepdad. Tyler agreed to help Bode with the outreach program at his school. He played the victim of drunk driving.
Tyler was the son of Chloe Mackenzie. She was the math teacher at school. She went to school with Bode and she actually used to tutor him in math for peer tutoring.
Meaning she was his math teacher as well. Bode thought that was funny when he heard it. Tyler thought it was embarrassing like he thought everything to do with his parents were the same. He also hated playing possum as he was pronounced dead. His mother had an unfortunate reaction. Sharon warned her that she didn’t want to be around when he was pronounced dead and Chloe didn’t listen.
Chloe burst into tears hearing her son was dead because that was every mother’s worst fear. With the way things have been going, Tyler was heading for trouble.
Bode saw it and that’s why he wanted to head it up at the pass. Bode didn’t want Tyler ended up like he did. Chloe appreciates it. She just wishes that her son turns to her and it hurts that he’d rather befriend a stranger instead. Chloe remembers Bode from back then. She had a crush on him that she thought she had hidden pretty well until Sharon admitted that they all knew about it.
Chloe thanked Bode for what he was doing. She stopped by the firehouse for the fake funeral they were throwing for Tyler. Tyler also stopped by because he had to clean up the ambulance he defaced.
Bode made sure he cleaned it up. He also ran into his Uncle Luke. Luke was back after being promoted. He was now Assistant Unit Chief. He was getting a special unit for the area. He wanted Bode to hurry through his probie list so that he could be promoted. Bode was a Leone and Luke felt that meant he was a born firefighter.
Luke hurrying Bode through the list just didn’t get to happen tonight because of an accident. The fire trucks hit a man on the way to the fire. He was hunting with a buddy when his buddy dropped out of nowhere. The man thought it was a heart attack. He went to get help and got hit by a fire truck. He needed treatment. The lake where he left his buddy was known to the Leones. They were sent there to help. It wasn’t on the probie list and they still had to go because they were ordered to. And they ran into some trouble.
The man they were sent to help did have a heart attack. He was on heart medication. He was prone to heart attacks and he never once told his friend this because he didn’t want to worry him. Well, now he left the firefighters performing CPR on him with a fire breathing down their neck and poison in the air.
That’s right the poison ivy that burns because poison in the air. The Leones weren’t told that before they went to the lake for the victim. They still kept going to help their patient. And help was a long time away.
The newly returned Three Rock were put in charge of creating a hose line. They weren’t Eve’s returning guys. They were a batch of new recruits and they were all young offenders.
They were the only ones readily available for fire season. Eve didn’t like that she was getting a new batch. She didn’t encourage them. She didn’t push them passed their good so that they were doing great. She failed to inspire them which cost them time in the field. Time that Bode had to make up. Bode and his uncle shoved the duck hunting shed into the lake.
They did so by first shooting out his legs. It technically count as the last item on Bode’s probie list. He still got to check it off and Luke was proud to do it. Eve also needed to find some way to be there for her team or she was going to lose them. She needed to work on communication.
She had a problem with Manny and she took it out on her guys. Manny too apologized for pushing her past her limits. He should never have done that because he’s once been in her shoes.
Bode returned to the firehouse to find the ambulance cleaned. It was even shinning. He told Chloe that as well because things didn’t go well at the fake funeral and now they know why. They were returning to the house when they overheard Chloe’s boyfriend yelling at her son. Degrading him.
He apparently does that whenever Chloe wasn’t around. It might have progressed to something worse. Bode busted up the fight. He got Tyler and Chloe back to the firehouse. And he called his mom because of something Tyler said.
Tyler said Landon destroyed the town with their house and the town with that fire – Bode came to question if Landon set the Zabel Ridge Fire.
THE END!
