In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, Teddy was enjoying her new relationship with Cass. She was no longer worried about her marriage. She and Owen were over. They were over the moment he slept with Nora. Teddy couldn’t move past the fact that he had feelings for someone else.
It was the one thing for them to sleep together. It was another that Owen genuinely cares about Nora. Teddy was tired of feeling second best. She refused to go back to that, but her carpooling with Cass to work led to Owen finding out about them. The marriage was already over and so now it was just Owen’s pride that hurts.
Link found out about it too. Link was being discharged from the hospital. He was finally well enough to leave and he walked right into a live triangle or it was love squared because of Nora. Link didn’t know. He didn’t want to know. He quickly returned home to his wife to pass on the juicy gossip.
It was Owen who knew that Link now know and the hospital didn’t need more drama. Things were already rough with Jackson Avery being back. Jackson was back to pull off some impressive surgery and when he wasn’t fending off an ambitious fellow – he was dealing with Meredith.
Meredith was upset. She was upset that Koracick posted his Alzheimer’s study. He used male mice in his research and he never tested female mice. Meredith did. She determined that the female mice didn’t react well to antibiotics like the male mice did. She knew that by ignoring that fact that Koracick published faulty information.
She was upset that it was allowed in spite of him being at a Catherine Fox hospital. He must have gotten permission. Meredith blamed Jackson. Jackson reminded her that she’s been hiding at Grey Sloane Memorial all summer when she was needed in Boston.
Jackson wasn’t going to apologize. Even Richard was siding with Meredith on this one. It wasn’t until Jackson needed a favor that he went to Meredith for help. His patient was a cancer survivor. She needed surgery. Only she had a hernia. Jackson couldn’t do what he does until General Surgery signs off on her.
He needed Meredith to do it. Meredith agreed to look at the patient’s scans. She was far too kind to let anyone suffer in silence. The same goes for Teddy. Teddy put her personal feelings aside to treat Nora.
Nora returned to the hospital. She’s been feeling a throbbing feel. It wasn’t an ache. It was something else. Since she nearly died before getting a brand new surgery, she thought it best to come back for a check up. She probably thought she’d get Winston. She ended up getting Teddy instead. It was comfortable. Teddy didn’t let it be awkward in the slightest. It helps that Teddy seemed to be moving on as well. Owen was focusing on his patients. This included Link who found himself stuck at the hospital.
Jo’s patient went into premature labor. Jo was forced to come in to work. Link found himself there because the kids were taken care of and so he followed Owen around like a lost puppy. He kept trying to hone in on Owen’s turf. Owen’s patient had a nasty fall from a hobby horse.
Yes, the fake horses that were just sticks with a stuffed horse head on top. There was a championship and everything involved. Two buddies fell. One was doing fine and the other was in such a rush to get back to the competition that he was willing to ignore why he kept fainting.
Link wanted in on the case. He couldn’t do the surgery himself. He was still benched. He just insisted on watching. Link thought hobby horses were creepy. Winston and Jules agreed. Owen told them “Enough”. He was worried about a teenage boy who loved this hobby and who put lose it.
He reminded everyone of that. Winston and Jules both apologized for their comments. Link came to question if Owen was really talking about the patient or if he was talking about himself. Owen kept trying to get rid of him because Link was the only other one that knew about what happened.
Link tried to ask him about it. He wanted them to talk. Owen wasn’t there yet. He’s been married quite a few times now and each ended in divorce. He got short with Link. He told him to go home. Teddy did the same with Cass. It took Teddy seeing Nora again for her to realize she wasn’t as over Owen as she thought. She was having fun with Cass. She just wasn’t ready to be without Owen. They’ve been each other best friends for over twenty years. They came into their own on the battle field. And now they were losing that.
Owen eventually apologized for taking out his hurt on Link. Link understood. Teddy apologized as well to Cass. Both of them were ready to move on. They merely needed to give themselves permission. Teddy went back to the hotel with Cass. Owen ran into Nora and the two of them had dinner.
Simone also wondered why Jules didn’t want to move into the house. She offered because Jules’s roommate got engaged. She thought Jules would love an escape. She offered and Jules wasn’t prepared for it. Jules implied that she would not want to live with Simone.
Simone asked Kwon about it. He got made she offered the house without telling him first. He then implied the two probably weren’t as close as Simone thought. Kwon then passed on Avery’s surgery to give the new plastics fellow the chance do the surgery.
She was hoping to become an attendee in Boston. Her parents lived there. Kwon stepping aside was something she noticed and she appreciated. So, he bought himself some good will. Ben was also considering a plastics specialty. He liked working with Jackson and Kavati.
He talked it over with Bailey and she gave him the boost he needed to pursue an additional three years of residency. Lucas also asked to stick with Bailey’s patient in surgical oncology. He was getting back to the basics now that his romance with Simone was over.
It wasn’t that Jules didn’t want to live with Simone. Its just that she’s lost friends and roommates for being a hard sleeper that needs three alarm clocks to get up. She didn’t want to put Simone through that. Her current roommate was deaf without her hearing aide. And that’s why she stayed there so long.
THE END!
