In tonight’s Sheriff Country episode, Mickey’s daughter got into some trouble again. It all began when she started dating another addict. Skye dated a guy she knew was trouble while she herself was fresh out of rehab. She’s a drug addict. She’s been in rehab on and off for so long that she knew what to expect.

She knew she should stay away from temptation. Yet, upsetting her mother was more important than doing the right thing. It’s doubtable she even loved the guy and now she’s the best suspect in his murder. Someone murdered Brandon.

Skye was covered in his blood. She said she went to his apartment to say goodbye. He allegedly told her he was heading back to rehab.

Skye then came in and saw him dead on the floor. Somehow her fingerprints got on the murder weapon. Somehow Brandon decided to go back to rehab right as he found a huge payday. Skye had revealed to him that her grandfather kept his money in his beehives. The same ones in the back of her mother’s house because that’s where her grandfather was now living.

Well, Brandon tried to rob those beehives. He got a lot of stings and was almost shot for his troubles. Skye left that part out of her retelling. The same way he used the six hundred dollars he stole to buy drugs. Skye took the drugs off him. She brought them to her cousin to flush because she wasn’t strong enough to do it herself.

She had every reason to be angry with him. She also didn’t call 911 when she found Brandon’s body. She went straight to her mother the Sheriff. Her grandfather’s first instinct was to help her get out of town. Mickey ended up bringing her to the police station instead.

Mickey was a law abiding citizen. Her daughter wasn’t. It also didn’t help when Brandon’s family heard about the murder. They came rushing down to the Sheriff’s office.

They heard that Skye was brought in and they wanted to speak to Boone. Not Mickey. Boone was leading the investigation. He and Cassidy also searched Brandon’s apartment. They didn’t find the knife. The one that Skye claimed she dropped almost instantly after pulling it out of Brandon. The knife disappeared. She has motive, means, and opportunity.

Brandon was stabbed in the back. He didn’t fight his attacker. He was caught by surprise. By someone he trusted enough to turn his back towards them. Things didn’t look good for Skye. It also didn’t look good for Mickey because she would be attached to anything her daughter did.

Mickey got lucky in the sense that a new case came in. She was alerted about a kidnapping. These young men arrived to town to work on a farm. Possibly a weed farm. They were known as trimmigrants. There’s this new crew in town and they drug people to force them to work on the farm.

They don’t get paid. They can’t leave. They were abused to stay in line. It was modern day slavery. There’s a lot of activity in an area known as Deadwater of town. They don’t like cops up there. They don’t talk to cops down the mountain either. What helped Mickey was that her father was the patron saint of Edgewater’s outlaws. He was a known drug dealer until weed became legal in their state. He’s now gone legit. It’s why his daughter even allowed him to move in with her. Wes wanted to be close to her again.

Wes heard about her going to Deadwater. He followed her up there. He came right in time. She brought Cassidy with her and Cass broke the one rule she set. She told her to not draw her gun no matter what. Cass broke that rule when the locals up there got too close.

Mickey was able to ease the tension. No one got shot. She found out who was dealing in the zombie drug and went to go talk to them. It was too late for that one. William Purdy had been murdered by the same man that abducted Ethan, Jay, and Seth.

Ethan got away by chewing through the yellow nylon cord used to tie them up. His friends were still at risk. Their abductors left on a trip and will be back by nightfall that day. Purdy had surveillance cameras. They identified the van used to abduct the teens as well as one of the men. It still wasn’t enough to tell them where they were hiding. Ethan was very disoriented from being drugged. He remembered snowing and Santa Claus. It was July. Only there was a prescribed burn happening in two areas nearby.

Sharon showed Mickey where they were. Mickey split up the deputies into two teams to check both areas. Mickey was riding with Cassidy again and this time they brought along Sharon. They found the farm. It was a Christmas Tree farm converted into a drug farm. Ethan did see Santa.

He saw a Santa drawing. The house had been abandoned, but they found the men out in the woods with the two boys and were about to kill them when Mickey and Cass stopped them. They saved the boys. And they were reunited with their families.

They were forced to kill one of the kidnappers. The other two will face charges. Back at the station, Skye’s situation looked horrible. Brandon recorded their conversation. He accused her of stealing his drugs just to use it. He threatened to tell her mother that she was using again if she didn’t return it.

He recorded how angry Skye was with him. That along with a missing murder weapon made Skye look guilty of murder. Mickey finally let her ex-husband call a lawyer friend. Skye was allowed to leave thanks to having a lawyer only Brandon’s troublemaking family now believes Skye killed Brandon.

They made a scene at the station. They waited outside of Mickey’s house. They wanted to harm Skye and neither Mickey nor Wes can always watch her.

THE END!
