In tonight’s The Voice episode, The Knockouts continued on tonight’s brand new episode. Up first was Team Reba. It was Cori vs Aaron. Aaron chose “Hurricane” by Band of Heathens. He chose it because there was no backup plan for him. It was this or nothing. He was giving it his all and the same could be said of Cori. Cori chose “You And I” by Lady Gaga. She wanted to highlight that voice. She also wouldn’t mind showing she can and will cross over to other genres if need be. Her voice having a natural grit just highlighted her amazing performance.

It just wasn’t as memorable as Aaron’s performance tonight. He was one of the few playing electric guitar this season and he rocked out with the band tonight. His voice also has grit. Sure, he didn’t throw in the dancing that Cori did. Then again he didn’t need to. He literally looked like a rock artist up on that stage. It was clear who the winner was before Reba had even deliberated. Cori still held her own and that’s what she has to remember after her elimination tonight. Next up was Team Snoop.

It was Mindy vs Carolina for that next Knockout. Snoop knew that going into this round with these two would be his most difficult decision ever. He loved both artists. They were incredibly talented each in their own way. Carolina chose the song “Lovesong” by the Cure. Only her version was closer to Adele’s version of that song. She preferred the jazz and blues version. It fit her voice perfectly. It was also dedicated to her siblings. Mindy dedicated her own performance to her grandparents who helped her find her voice.

Mindy chose the song “In Color” by Jamey Johnson. She said that song for her was one of the best storytelling she’s ever heard. She couldn’t wait to perform this song she was so excited. Mindy’s version was very beautiful. The same goes for Carolina. Carolina sung her out with her song. She put on an equally great performance. Snoop’s team chose the songs that would best fit their voices and so it left him with a problem. He could choose older and Country or younger and rising Pop. His answer was surprising.

Snoop chose not to side with his fellow coaches. He chose Mindy. Mindy’s consistency won over her coach and it was over for Carolina’s time on the show, but many want her to come back because they felt she won that round. Next up was Team Bublé. It was Teo vs Jazz. These two were the best voices on the show and Michael Buble in his wisdom chose for them to battle it out. It was either going to be the best or worst decision of the season. Jazz chose the song “Cruisin” by Smokey Robinson. She chose D’Angelo’s version of it.

She wanted to show off a sexy side to her voice. She was running out of air towards the end and so the Mega Mentor helped her to find her diaphragm. It would help extend her runs. Now, Teo decided to go off in a direction no one ever expected. He chose “Its My Life” by Jon Bon Jovi. He usually sings in Spanish and so him going Rock on them took even his coach by surprise. It was a game-changer. Michael knew that if he got it right that it would be his anthem and war cry all in one. And he got it right at his performance.

Teo went first. He did everything to fit the new persona. He dressed like a rocker and he had fun on that stage. The last part was also true of Jazz. Jazz loves the song she chose. She usually performs it at weddings. She wasn’t engaged or anything and she still said that one day she was going to have someone singing this song at her wedding. The song provided her a sense of comfort and magic can be found in that as well. This one was a tough one. Especially for their coach. Michael considered his options and he felt he could go further with Jazz.

Snoop had to start playing music because Michael was so depressed after losing Teo.

THE END!
