In tonight’s Tracker episode, a young woman was abducted from her home. Her father knew she was in danger. It was getting everyone else to believe she was in danger that was the problem. There was no evidence of wrongdoing. The cops suspected she went on a drug binge because they found drugs at her apartment and her father knew those drugs had to be planted.
His daughter has an older brother. The brother was an addict. Noelle would never touch the stuff after she saw what he did to family. She also recently got into an argument with her boss. He was late on paying her. She confronted him and he got in her face. She told her dad all about it.
It was their last conversation before she went missing. Noelle calls him all the time. He knew something was wrong when she wouldn’t answer her phone and her phone was later found at her apartment.
Again, the cops dismissed it. They saw the drugs and thought junkie. Noelle was actually a courier. She delivers for a weed dispensary. Her boss likes to act tough. He even beat up Noelle’s dad, Dale. Dale thought he had something to do with his daughter going missing and Vince Unger beat him up.
Only Vince had nothing to do with her disappearance. He actually lost money because of it. Noelle never made it to at least five deliveries that night and her disappearing with his product ensured he was looking for her just as much as her dad was.
He wasn’t their guy. Colter figured that out for himself. Colter spoke to Vince. He got the addresses for all the deliveries Noelle was supposed to make. He checked up on Lyle Voss who never got back to Vince on whether or not Noelle made the delivery. And that’s because Lyle is dead.
Colter found him dead in the man’s office bathroom. Lyle appeared to have died on the toilet. He’s been gone for days. He called 911. He got Officer Crosby. She was extremely dismissive. She didn’t care about Colter’s theories. Colter doesn’t believe Lyle died so innocently. He was a lawyer. He was in fact Noelle’s lawyer.
Noelle changed her route just to make sure that Lyle was on her new path. She was in frequent contact with him. She was using a burner and her last call to Lyle was telling him that she was at his place. She begged him to call her back because she hadn’t heard from him.
Why did Noelle need a lawyer? Noelle needed a lawyer a day after she worked the Bennings party. The Bennings were an old money family out of Boston. The same party that Noelle worked also had a body count.
A cater waiter died right outside of their property called the Rosewood Chateau. It was believed to have been a robbery because the man was strangled to death allegedly for his wallet as well as his cellphone. Colter suspected something else happened. He thought Noelle must have witness the murder and that the family was covering it up.
These people were so wealthy that they bought politicians as an investment. They were Boston. They controlled that city and they were protecting one of their own from consequences.
It’s the only explanation. It also could explain why the cops never dug into Noelle’s disappearance all that deeply. They were pretty dismissive for people that never once thought it odd Noelle worked a party where someone was murdered. Or that she suddenly changed her route. Or that she stayed in contact with a lawyer. Those cops never once looked into her case seriously.
Her father had been right. Those drugs were planted. It was to make Noelle look like a junkie. If she was, there were a lot of people willing to dismiss her and whatever she might have told the lawyer.
Colter checked on the home where Noelle was staying. He found it broken into. He then asked Reenie to reach out to her Boston contacts and, while she was doing that, he experienced some trouble on the road. Colter’s car brakes were cut. He was luckily he wasn’t killed outright. He still ran into a hitman the moment he parked.
Colter killed the guy. He stole the man’s truck. He drove off using the man’s GPS hoping to find Noelle. It led right back to Rosewood Chateau. Reenie’s colleague used to be the Bennings asset manager.
He said that the old man was in charge and that he found religion. The incident being recent must mean it was Graham’s fault. Graham didn’t fall far from the tree. He also struggled with drugs. He’s been in rehab three times all around the world. He still was doing drugs and he killed the waiter while high out of his mind. He told Noelle at the time that the guy merely passed out.
She must have learned differently. Which was why she tried to protect herself. The Bennings found out she went to a lawyer and they abducted her. They planned on forcing drugs into her system and they weren’t going to stop there.
They were going to kill her until Colter found her. He rescued her. He saved her from the drugs in her system. The fixer even helped him because Graham was already dead. They made Graham’s death look like a suicide when he was most likely killed to protect the family name.
They turned on one of their own because Graham didn’t want to kill Noelle. He wanted to come clean. It made him a liability and that’s why they cut their losses. Colter went back to Rosewood the second Noelle was fine.
He spoke with the fixer. He congratulated her for a well-played game. He also said that Noelle no longer being safe meant Graham wasn’t the mastermind after all. And so nothing better happen to her or the whole family goes down.
It was a nice reminder.
Colter never planned on taking the case. He was looking into his father’s friends when Dale overheard him say he finds missing people. Dale then begged for his help and Colter was too kind to turn away.
Colter even accepted a gun as payment for finding Noelle. He didn’t want to bankrupt Dale and he also wanted to make sure he spoke with the fixer before leaving town.
THE END!
