NCIS Special Agent Knight was looking for a former member of the NCIS team. Her name is Eleanor Bishop. She joined up back when Gibbs was running things and she left when he was still doing so. Bishop allowed her government to burn her as a gateway to becoming a CIA Officer. However, it doesn’t explain why she’s back stateside or why she attended the funeral for Parker’s mom. She didn’t even know Parker. She wasn’t attending as a mourner. She stayed in her car. She went there to watch her friends. She wanted to make sure one person was in attendance before she broke into his apartment.

Bishop went into Torres’s apartment. She used his internet to download something. She never got the chance to finish seeing as he returned before she could. Bishop then escaped. She did her best to hide her movements. She just didn’t count on the cat. Chairman Meow was Torres’s neighbor’s cat. She came in through the same window that Bishop escaped from and Torres had no need to leave a window open. He right away knew someone had been in his apartment. There was nothing missing. There was one thing added.

It was a photo. It was of Torres eating an apple fritter. He thought it was fake because he’d never eat something fried. It was McGee who realized it must be Bishop’s photo. The one she took of Torres after he had been hypnotized. He was hypnotized into eating the fritter by someone they interviewed on the job. McGee wasn’t there. He heard about what happened through Bishop who always claimed she took a photo and then never shared it. Torres didn’t know why this photo had reappeared all of the sudden.

Though Knight knew why. Knight was approached by NCIS ELITE. They put together a team to hunt down Bishop and Knight was a part of it. What Knight couldn’t figure out was why they were looking for Bishop. She wasn’t like the others in ELITE in that she didn’t know Bishop deliberately burned herself in order to join an US Black Ops Unit. She knew and she brought it up for the people in the back. She said Bishop has been a diligent agent before she knowingly put herself in harms way to serve her country.

Bishop being back stateside meant she probably needed help. Not a team hunting her. Knight brought this all up and she was then informed about what happened since Bishop joined that black ops unit. Bishop was stationed in the Ukraine. Her site got hit. They went underground. Since then, someone has been attacking the DOD’s mainframe and they believe it to be Bishop. They thought she became a cyberterrorist. They assumed she was either doing for the money or had been turned by Russia.

It simply didn’t make sense to Knight. Knight didn’t know her all that well. She wasn’t family like she was to McGee and Nick. What she did know was that Bishop was done far too much to labelled a traitor. She knew there had to be another reason for Bishop’s return so she came clean to her friends. She told them that ELITE was asked to bring in Bishop. She didn’t want them to hear from anyone else and it proved to be important because a member of Bishop’s team showed up dead in the area.

Her name was Annie Polk. Parker was taking time off. Torres was weirded by the photo and took the day off. Knight knew why he was weirded by the photo. She stopped by his apartment. She let herself in when she didn’t hear anything. She then suddenly found herself fighting Bishop. Bishop had Torres handcuffed to a chair. She was questioning him and Knight saw that as enemy territory. She attacked. She and Bishop fought until Torres broke free of his restraints to hear out the rest of Bishop’s story.

Bishop said there was someone that leaked information on her team. They’ve killed two members and she was worried about the third. She failed to mention that the third was Jonathan Lin. Her legal husband. Before they were removed from Annie’s case by ELITE, they determined by someone she knew. Someone she trusted to turn her back on because this was an experienced agent with fight training. Torres knew the last part and he chose to trust Bishop. They didn’t know about the marriage certificate until they snuck her into the NCIS building.

Bishop got what she needed with McGee’s help then she knocked him out. Knight found him. Both of them thought maybe she was playing them. She covered for Jonathan or was the mole herself. It wasn’t anything like that. Bishop was lured away by Patricia Kovach. She was the fourth member that allegedly died in the Ukraine. Except she didn’t die. She instead sold her skillset to people and betrayed her team. Annie must have thought it was a miracle she survived. And that’s why she turned her back on her.

Bishop went because Jonathan was the last member of her team. Their marriage was purely on paper. They weren’t married in the true sense or even dating. Torres had planted a bug on Bishop. He was a trust but verify kind of guy. He followed her to the meet up with Patricia. Him and the rest of his team. They saved Jonathan. They also arrested Patricia. Bishop was free to return her normal life. Or in this case the field. Torres said goodbye to her and he turned down her offer to go with her overseas.

His place was with NCIS. Her place was out there fighting the good fight. Her team saved a lot of lives before Patricia detonated it all. Bishop didn’t even get into trouble for stealing the files. They cleared her name. They also withheld a few sticking points from the DOD. It was in everyone’s best interest to pretend like Patricia was the only issue. And that issue was just resolved.

The End
