In tonight’s The Rookie recap, the FBI roped in Officer Nolan to transport some of their villains. The local prison had toxic mold. They were transporting the worst of the worst with the help of the US Marshalls.

They also had a last minute addition of Oscar Hutchinson. He got caught during a typical robbery. It was of a grocery store and so right away Nolan suspected something was off about their Con Air flight. Oscar on top of the other criminals they had to deal with spelled trouble. It was a ninety minute flight. There was a lot that could go wrong.

Like one of the prisoners recognizing the biggest target as the slaughterer of his family. It happened years ago and the guy refused to forget or forgive. It made thing uncomfortable for everybody on the plane.

There was also a film crew following them around. The filming was for the US Marshalls training purposes or so they claimed at least. The filming wasn’t going well when people on the ground noticed that the flight was taking longer than necessary. Lopez and Harper were picking up Oscar. They wanted to personally escort him back to prison.

Tim was running the whole operation of police transport. He was kinda glad too. His mom came to stay at his place. She apparently didn’t know that he was dating anyone or that they moved in together.

Lucy found out when she introduced herself to the woman. The same woman who asked if she was a colleague. Lucy’s look alone at Tim made him say they were dating. Only Lucy had been hurt by the interaction. She asked Tim why he didn’t tell his mom about her. They started dating three years ago. She felt she should’ve come up.

Tim said that he wasn’t that close with his mother. Lucy thought she understood that until she learned what he really meant. Tim didn’t tell his mom about Lucy or why he got a divorce from Isabel.

He left all of that out. Lucy wasn’t close with her parents either and she still told them that she moved in with someone. Lucy was upset. Celina and Lopez both thought she should talk to the mom. Harper told her not to. She advised her to never get between a man and his mom. It wasn’t pretty.

Tim also tried to do damage control with his mom. She went snooping around his place. She found out he was living with Lucy and confronted him. She was hurt he didn’t tell her himself. He quickly made an excuse to get off the phone, but there was a real emergency. One of the pilots was compromised.

He drugged the other one. He was going to fake an emergency landing where Heath’s men told him to. Garza stopped that from happening. Garza quickly deduced what was happening so he rescued the pilot’s family.

Then one of the Marshalls turned on them. It turns out the guy wasn’t a real Marshall at all. He shot Heath’s enemy. He forced an emergency landing on the water and Heath escaped with his men. He also released several of the others. This included a cannibal who quickly grabbed a snack at the local church.

There was Oscar. There was a young woman who suffered brain damage in car accident. It took away her impulse control and she had a lot of dark impulses. There was an even guy that was part of the local organized crime.

The last one gave one helluva fight before the detectives were able to arrest him. They practically had to beat him senseless just to get him into handcuffs. They found the female prisoner making sandcastles with a bunch of kids at the park. They offered her ice cream and she dropped the knife.

Out of gratitude, they made sure to still get her the ice cream. Tim was the one that found Heath. Heath offered him ten million to let him go. Tim turned it down because he said integrity mattered more than that.

Heath swore that Tim was going to regret it. Tim forgot all about him. He still had to return home to Lucy and his mom. LAPD ended up catching most of their perps. Oscar was the one that got away.

Nolan hated him the most and so that one was going to hurt. Especially when Oscar called Nolan later on to brag about getting away.

But Harper heard back from IA. She was back on patrol duty until further notice. She was handling a bunch of rookies.

THE END!
